PARTICLE DESIGN OF KETOCONAZOLE BY SPHERICAL CRYSTALLIZATION

Objective: This research aimed to make ketoconazole spherical crystals improve the micromeritic properties and dissolution rate using solvent change method.
 Methods: The that is used in process of crystallization consists three types: ether (good solvent), distilled water (bad n-hexane (bridging liquid), with a 20:70:10 ratio each. agglomerates were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC, powder X-ray diffraction (XRPD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), electron microscopy (SEM).
 Results: Based on PXRD, DSC, FTIR spectrophotometer results, it was determined there no internal crystalline structure during recrystallization into crystals, SEM results revealed morphology crystal became spherical. evaluation concluded have superior than conventional ketoconazole. test showed an enhancement compared untreated ketoconazole.
 Conclusion: Thus, appear be viable approach for enhancing solubility characteristics properties, which would highly advantageous processing as high-dose drug.
